A cardio-vascular network has been established by co-operation between the Department of Cardio-vascular Surgery at CHUV in Lausanne, Switzerland and a group of public and private hospitals. This cardio-vascular network provides  patient care, teaching, and research in all relevant fields of cardio-vascular diseases.
Heart Lab International provides practical courses on new procedures for experienced cardio-vascular surgeons and allied health personnel. The typical format includes definition of cardio-vascular problem, demonstration of a procedure in very realistic phantoms by an internationally recogniced expert, practical work by the course participants and an open discussion.
Connection of cardio-pulmonary bypass to the circulatory system can be improved with dynamic cannulae adapting to the anatomical configuration of access vessels. The Smartcanula™ is inserted in collapsed low profile configuration over a guidewire, then expands, adapts to the target vessel configuration, and allows for superior drainage
The Congenital Heart Foundation supports efforts towards normal heart. This includes timely diagnosis of congenital heart defects, expeditious pre-operative work-up, less invasive cardiac repair, new developments, early and long term follow-up in paediatric and adult patients.
Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) in Lausanne, Switzerland CHUV is the headquater of the Department of cardio-vascular surgery (in French: Service de Chirurgie Cardio-vasculaire = CCV). We provide full care for paediatric and adult cardio-vascular problems.
Lifesight is a non-profit organization, launched from the Laboratory of Cardio-vascular Surgery (CCV) with the CHUV (Lausanne, CH), which establishes a link between the published work of cybertools and new developments.  The purpose is to test medical devices in the experimental set-up first. Clinical implementation is the final goal.
